“ Mina's Fish Bar is situated on the high street, a paved area for pedestrians lined with a large variety of interesting shops. I managed to find parking about 50 metres away, though there are larger car parks just a little farther on. Approaching Mina’s, I noticed a large dedicated seating area out front. On entering, it was spotlessly clean and tidy, with plenty of room in the takeaway section and lots of tables and chairs in the restaurant area. The restaurant also included a clean and tidy toilet for patrons. The staff were pleasant, polite, and eager to assist. The cod and chips were generously portioned, with the cod tasting fresh and having a lovely, delicate texture. The batter was light and crispy in parts but a little thick and doughy in others—still, it had a nice flavour. The chips had plenty of taste, though they were a little skinny and limp. They were very moreish, though. There was a choice of curry sauces; I chose the Chinese, as I like my curry thick and smooth—and that’s just how it was, although a little bland. The gravy was delicious, with a smooth texture and a subtle beefy taste. The mushy peas were a bright, almost luminous green, which may have been due to colouring, though I can't be sure. I have to admit I prefer my mushy peas, however they come—even if that means pale in colour. Still, they were thick and delicious. ???? Cooking in: Oil ???? Payment: Cash or Card ????
